WELL Farm Tour, Sat. Aug. 3, 2013
The 7th annual farm tour is an opportunity to see small-scale farms first-hand and to learn from master-gardeners how good food can be grown here in Willits. The tour, sponsored by Willits Economic Localization (WELL), will be Sat., Aug. 3rd, beginning at 9:45 am at the WISC complex on S. Lenore (just south of Recreation Grove Park ). A number of local farms will be featured, ending with lunch at the Golden Rule farm.
Whether you’re already gardening or would like to start, you can learn what grows here, when and how to plant, and some of the challenges farmers face. Ask your own garden questions.
A map and directions will be provided at our jump-off point, and carpooling is greatly encouraged.
This is also a membership drive & benefit for WELL. The tour is free for current members, and others will receive a 1-1/2 year membership plus the tour for a $15 donation. A $5 donation is requested for lunch that WELL will provide, or you may bring your own lunch. We especially encourage families and youth to attend. We recommend bringing some water, shade hat or parasol for the tour.
